Very quiet on a Monday afternoon. Courteous cashier. Delicious sweet potato latte. The large size is so huge its filling
I came to Dal Komm with a couple of friends for a spot of post-dinner - what Singaporeans would call 'Round 2'. While this is a known Korean cafe establishment, stepping into this outlet does not ring forth anything remotely Korean, save for a background song track by Lisa.
Service here was a little on the young end of the spectrum. Maybe it was a weekday evening when I went hence a less experienced staff were helming the storefront. Sadly, the lack of attention caused the attendant to key in 2 wrong items. My friend and I each, in turn, pointed out what was ordered wrongly.
We ordered the Earl Grey hazelnut cake, black velvet cake, camomile tea, iced Americano, and the green tea latte. The cakes themselves were dry and, honestly, tasted 'tired' - a much-too-familiar taste to suggest zero originality. The drinks themselves didn't inspire songs worthy of an Irish tavern. If their taste - or lack of - was a less-calorie version of what was supposed to be, we were left none the wiser.
And in the wider context of what is available in Marina Square's Level 2, you would be better off heading to the other wing sipping coffee brewed from robusta beans from Tanamera...or McCafe.
So much nope goes into this beyond the glitzy lights. Pity.
Went on a weekend late afternoon the place was crowded. I guess customers are required to clear their own tables. Saw few tables where tables were not clear, and the staff just let it be without clearing the tables. The restaurant was very noisy, everyone was talking very loudly worst than neighbourhood coffee shop. The waffles was nice. The French fries looks seasoned, but you don’t find it salty. The French fries portion was huge, but given the price of $9.90, still find it expensive. Chocolate muffin is dry, to compare Starbucks chocolate muffins is much better at about the same price.
A branch of the well established chain featuring cafe food and definitely bingsu (Korean shaved ice). Portion of bingsu is huge and good to share amongst 4 quite easily. Delicious!
Visited the restaurant/cafe located in Marina Square for dinner. Although it is during dinner time, the food establishment has a big seating capacity so there are still seats available. We ordered 2 different types of pastas and tater tots. The food is served on a self-collection basis and the ordering is done at the counter located at the front.
Overall, the taste of the food is good and the tater tots are delicious.
Tried the cappuccino, and it was really very diluted. I asked for it to be changed, and it was slightly better, but it still tastes like not enough coffee. Thankfully, the tart was good. The shop is massive with lots of seats.
Always wanted to try this since ... Well don't know when but heard about it from kdrama fans.
The atmosphere is good, cosy and I like the Korean pop songs playing here.
The mocha is great! Can't tell why but it tastes slightly different from Starbucks and coffee bean, not better or worse but just different.
Basque burnt cheesecake is great!
And I am eyeing the Korean bites on the menu now! Lot more interesting than SB, CB is thee menu...
Throwback on 25th May 2023. It’s a very relax atmosphere but bcoz it’s a self-service restaurant sometimes the staff also can’t be bothered to clear the dirty table. Gotta really find a clean table. Other people can jus walked into the restaurant & sit down to relax without even buying anything coz the table not cleared. N others would have thought she was the previous customer. The lady then took out her own water bottle, drank it n even left it on the dirty table hoping the staff to clean n throw for her.
Otherwise their dessert n food are yummy and delicious 🤤
